If you’re looking for ways on how to create a coaching program, there are some vital questions you need to ask yourself. After years of working with a lot of coaches, I’ve compiled a list of critical questions that will help you before getting started.
But answering these questions requires deep reflection and thoughtfulness. So, I encourage you to take a moment to answer each question instead of just listening or watching. I promise that doing so will lead to a better program overall. Ready to dive in? Let’s get started.
1. Who specifically will benefit from your coaching program?
The first question to ask yourself when figuring out how to create a coaching program is who specifically will benefit from your coaching program. In other words, who is your ideal client for your program? Can you visualize this person and do you know who that person might be?
2. What problem will this program help them solve?
It’s important to consider this question because if your coaching program doesn’t solve a problem, it’s going to be very difficult for you to sell. You need to make sure your potential customer has a real pain or a real need for your program.
3. Does your potential customer have a real pain or a real need for this program?
Think about that. Are you creating something people actually want?
4. Why haven’t your potential clients or customers found a solution to this problem yet?
Answering this question will actually help you create a better program. So listen again, why haven’t your potential clients not found a solution to this problem yet?
5. What other programs or products in your marketplace would they consider instead of your coaching program?
When figuring out how to create a coaching program, it’s important to consider the other programs or products in your marketplace
This question can help you gain perspective on what’s out there, what people are already seeing, and what they are being told. It’s also useful to consider what they are considering buying, as this will help you understand how to make your program better.
6. How have others attempted to solve this problem before and why did their solution succeed or fail?
If you’re trying to solve a problem, there’s a good chance someone has already come up with a solution using a product, program, or tool. So hopefully that is the case.
So why did their solution succeed or why did it fail? Answering his question really helps you develop your own point of view and your own perspective, your own unique, distinct way of thinking about the problem that you are solving for your clients.
7. How will your program be different and why is that better?
Sometimes people will say, “Well, my program is different, or my coaching is different. I am different.”
When considering how to create a coaching program, it’s important to remember that simply being different doesn’t necessarily sell, unless it’s also better. If you’re claiming that your program or coaching style is different, you need to be able to explain why it’s better.
8. What is the big idea behind your program?
Why do you believe that your program should exist?
9. How is this big idea challenging your industry or your niche, what everybody else is saying?
Is it challenging? Other experts around this topic answering this question will allow you to create great marketing content and a conversation around your coaching program.
10. How will your program fit into the bigger vision of your business?
Because you never want to create something that will be a standalone product. You want to make sure that your program actually fits somewhere into your business model. Maybe there are other offers that will go.
Perhaps this could be the ticket to bringing new people into your world and enticing them to purchase more programs or services. Alternatively, it may help you achieve a long-awaited business goal that is of utmost importance to you.
